Azure Data Factory SAP CDC Connector

• Real-time ingestion using the SAP CDC connector
• Very easy to setup and start using
• Relatively cheap on-demand pricing
• Minimal operations effort needed
• Uses standard SAP ODP framework (via RFC, not oData)
• Direct support for Databricks Delta as a target
• SAP application tables can be extracted only when using SAP SLT as a proxy
• Alternatively, you can create custom CDSViews for the tables you need to extract
• Some functionality not supported yet (hierarchy datasource, additive extractors, …)
• → Use Eviden SAP Accelerator to solve hierarchies extraction
• Invalid/improper data types conversion (DATE, CHAR, DECIMAL) from SAP to the data lake
• → Use Eviden SAP Accelerator to fix data types conversion
• Relatively new (introduced 07/2022)
